Responsibilities:
- Develop AI Agents that autonomously operate on domain-specific tasks with high accuracy
- Evaluate the performance of the agents in diverse setups and continually improve them
- Ship AI products to a diverse profile of enterprises with complex production environments
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers and sales leads
- Work with customers to carefully generalize our AI to handle diverse scenarios
You may be a good fit if you:
- Have strong ML fundamentals that guide your daily work (eg. evaluation metrics, loss functions, attention mechanisms, quantization, backpropagation, inference, monte carlo tree search, synthetic data generation)
- Have a good grasp of LLMs (eg. different architectures, multimodality, training techniques and challenges, fine tuning, prompting)
- Engineered ML products or solutions (eg. coded with PyTorch, batched inference on GPUs, scraped and curated data, evaluated hallucinations in production, RAGs)
- Familiar with ML programming environments (eg. Python, database, cloud runs, git, wandb)
- Are able to read research papers quickly and summarize it with first principles
Strong candidates may also have:
- Experience or knowledge of Reinforcement Learning including reward modeling, training techniques (eg. PPO, DQN, A2C) and software frameworks (eg. OpenAI Gym, Ray RLlib, DeepRL)
- Experience working with code generation and understand the nuances (eg. relative strengths of various models, prompting for code accuracy, sampling for correct code)
- Developed domain-specialized agents (eg. virtual agents in popular online frameworks with tool calling, software agents with frameworks such as langchain)
- Worked in production environments while shipping AI products
- Implemented or published research papers in ML
Qualifications, logistics and traits:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics or fundamental sciences
- Lives in the Bay Area or is willing to relocate here upon employment
- Work with peers at the office at least 3 days a week
- Organized and detail oriented person who is comfortable and nimble with ambiguity. Has the mindset to learn and to figure things out by doing. Is adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and tools.
